Here is #42 on the TAJT-10 HBCU 2014 Poll & 2015 Preview : Florida A&M 3-9

#42
Florida A&M
3 wins 9 losses in 2014
3wins  5 losses in the MEAC

There is a meet the team day Scheduled for August 22, 2015 scheduled for 2pm location  is 8 Lawson Center.

Perserverance was the key word for the Rattlers in 2014. This team lost a Head coach with 4 games left in  the season, not to say things on the field were going all that well. That being said this season new head coach Alex Wood will be at the helm and depending on some good talent to put the poison back in the Rattlers bite!

Alex Wood
2015 FAMU Head Football Coach

The main man in 2014 was Senior Damien Fleming  who threw the ball for over 2100 yard passing  and 17 TDs  .

Tysean  Holloway      10  394.0        1-1-0        100.0      35     0   35       3.5

Fleming posses a good arm and instinct as well as quickness and the ability to tuck the ball and run finishing  second in rushing for the Orange and Green in 2014. But Who will replace the athletic ability of Fleming at the QB spot in 2015?

The number may be  12  as in Carson Royal  the 6'2" 214lb  Junior from Louisville looks to be next man up. After beating out  Kenny Coleman  and Davonte Austin.

The ground attack , may be in good hands with the return of freshman now sophomore Gerald Hearns! But after  rushing for  over 500 yards in 2014 he may need help from junior Tysean Holloway in 2015 ( QB Fleming rushed for 555 gross  yards ).
#30  Gerald Hearns  Soph RB

As far as the "Air Attack" in 2014 !  That was all  #7  Bandon Norwood !

The head of the snake when opponents get bitten this season may be the defense and the tip of the venomous tongue may be in the form of Pittsburgh. Pa  native Akil Blount!

Blount  lead the Rattler defense with 72 total tackles in 2014  and I think he can get even more in 2015!

Defensive             GP   Solo    assisted   Total Tackles    Sacks   Int     TDs
Akil Blount           12      42        30              72                     1.5        1         0

Devonte Johnson   12      38        15              53                     1.0        1         0
Kashawn Butler      12      28        24               52                     2.0       1         0

The hissing sound opponents may hear in 2015 will not  be the air coming out of tires in the parking lot or the football. The oppostion  must stay alert at all times as that hiss plus  rattling sound  may be the only warning they get before a "Blount Strike".
